CSRC and MAS Held the 7th Supervisory Roundtable

China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) held the 7th CSRC-MAS Supervisory Roundtable on May 19, 2023 in Beijing. Mr. Fang Xinghai, Vice Chairman of the CSRC, and Ms. Ho Hern Shin, Deputy Managing Director of the MAS, attended and addressed the meeting. Both sides looked back on the consensus reached by the leadership of both countries to strengthen comprehensive and innovative cooperation in areas including the financial sector, and exchanged views on respective regulatory developments and practices as well as progress on ETF connectivity between ShenZhen Stock Exchange and Singapore Exchange.

Important consensus has been reached on pragmatic capital market cooperation in areas including expanding ETF connectivity, enhancing futures and derivatives market cooperation and encouraging regulatory personnel exchange, so as to contribute to the all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership between the two countries. The CSRC and the MAS also witnessed the signing of the MoU on ETF product link between Shanghai Stock Exchange and Singapore Exchange. The Roundtable was attended by over 40 participants including MAS Assistant Managing Director Mr. Lim Tuang Lee, heads of related departments from the CSRC and the MAS, and representatives from securities exchanges of both countries.

The Roundtable was established to implement relevant outcomes of President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Singapore in November 2015, and serves as an important platform to facilitate bilateral dialogue between regulators and market institutions and promote pragmatic cooperation between capital markets of the two countries.
