CSRC and World Bank Jointly Held Roundtable Meeting on OTC Derivatives Supervision

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the World Bank jointly held the Roundtable Meeting on OTC Derivatives Supervision in Beijing recently. This meeting was a technical assistance program of the World Bank, which aimed at assisting the CSRC to better implement relevant recommendations of the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP).


Vice-chairman Fang Xinghai attended the meeting and delivered opening remarks. Experts from the World Bank, International Finance Company, US Commodities and Futures Trading Commission, US Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, London Clearing House, JP Morgan, HSBC, CICC and Cargill were invited to share opinions on the progress and effects of European and US OTC derivatives reforms, operation of trade repositories, operation of central counterparties, utilization of exchange-traded and OTC derivatives by corporations and OTC derivatives services provided by market institutions. They introduced the development of international OTC derivatives markets and relevant regulatory experiences, and proposed advice about the supervision of China's OTC derivatives markets.


The meeting attracted nearly 50 participants from relevant departments and affiliated institutions of the CSRC.
