The CSRC Annual Report(2007) Published in Beijing

 

Recently, the Annual Report of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (2007) (hereinafter referred to as the CSRC Annual Report (2007)) has been officially published in Beijing. It is in both Chinese and English languages and the first of its kind since the CSRC’s founding in 1992. The CSRC Annual Report (2007) aims to convey a complete picture of China’s capital market to domestic and foreign market participants and all market observers alike. It addresses the following issues: the role and mission of the regulator — CSRC, China’s securities regulatory framework, significant regulatory policies in recent years, retrospect for the development of China’s capital market in 2007, and key regulatory focus and prospects for 2008.

 

According to a CSRC official, readers from both home and abroad may have a better understanding of CSRC, current regulatory framework of China’s capital market and its key achievements in the recent years. The CSRC Annual Report (2007) also serves as one of the specific measures to further promote regulatory transparency and market opening-up.

 

To make the CSRC Annual Report (2007) more informative and readable, a great number of data and diagrams are attached to the text. Therefore, it may also serve as reference for academics as well as market professionals who are interested in studying and analyzing China’s capital market.

 

The CSRC Annual Report (2007 is prefaced by Mr. Shang Fulin, Chairman of the CSRC and published by China Financial & Economic Publishing House.
